How many adjustments will I need?
The frequency of visits depends on your individual needs and health goals. The majority of our practice members will get adjusted multiple times per week during their restorative care plan. The goal during this stage is to build momentum through repetition and time to allow your body and nervous system to heal and function better. Once that is achieved, wellness care can enter the picture to help you maintain your progress and achievements. We always create personalized care plans based on your history, concerns, and neuro-scan results so you get the right care for your body and lifestyle.
How long will it take to notice results?
While every case is different, the two biggest factors that help us best answer this question are the practice member’s age and the severity of their subluxation patterns, neurological dysfunction, and imbalance. Usually, younger kids with less severe neurological dysfunction are going to respond faster and typically need a less involved care plan.
There are ways we can track and see changes (neurological healing) in the early stages. We’re able to see changes on our Insight Scans, as well as what we call “soft signs”. Soft signs are changes in functional aspects like sleep, digestion, immune function, motor planning, etc. Changes in these areas lets us know we’re on track for neurological restoration and healing!
What is a subluxation?
A
subluxation refers to a complex neurological dysfunction in the body, made up of three components: misalignment, fixation & restricted motion, and neurological interference & imbalance. When subluxation occurs, it can interfere with the proper functioning of the nervous system, which is responsible for controlling and coordinating all the systems in the body. Nervous system dysregulation and dysfunction are often overlooked and dismissed components of both acute and chronic health challenges in kids and adults alike.
What is the difference between neuro-focused chiropractic vs ‘regular’ chiropractic?
There are a lot of differences between a neuro-focused chiropractor and a regular chiropractor. First being extensive training in pediatric health, neurodevelopment, adjusting, and case management. Next, regular chiropractors tend to mainly focus on pain, spinal, and musculoskeletal health (which is great!). In contrast, we focus entirely on the nervous system and its function, which involves incorporating the neurological
InSight CLA Scans as the core of the exam process (not typically found in regular offices). Lastly, LHW’s doctors are trained in many adjusting techniques to achieve optimal results for each patient.
Why do babies need to get adjusted?
Chiropractic care is vital in the beginning stage of life, as it helps the nervous system adapt to its new environment. It also helps the body adjust to any stress (physical, emotional, and/or chemical) that may have been experienced in utero and during labor.
Keep in mind the nervous system experiences a rapid state of growth from the prenatal stage through the first three years of life. Any neurological interference (subluxation) from birth, carriers, bumps and falls, medications and the like can build up over time and impact the nervous system, developing into more serious neurological problems.
Do you see men, too?
Yes! We also serve moms & dads, young adults, pregnant moms, and the entire family. When families are adjusted together, they thrive together!
Once I start getting adjusted, do I have to go forever?
Ultimately, the choice is yours to continue chiropractic care. At LHW, once practice members have gone through restorative care, they tend to continue at a lesser frequency to ensure they feel and function at their best. As we know, life’s stresses—whether physical, emotional, or chemical—never really go away. Wellness care is designed to help support your system through those stresses!
What is the difference between restorative care and wellness care?
Restorative care focuses on neurological healing. During the restorative care phases, the body works to release stuck, stressed nervous system patterns, rebuild and reorganize, and ultimately restore functioning of the nervous system so it can better adapt. Restorative care is when the frequency of visits is the highest. Time and repetition is the key when we’re looking to reach your goals and help the nervous system function at its optimal level. Think of the braces stage of dental care—your body needs that more constant input to make changes. Wellness care comes once your restorative care plan is achieved. At this point, we can decrease the frequency of adjustments while maintaining optimal function and results! Most often, this looks like a weekly frequency.
